Kubera lets you track all your investments in one place, from stocks to crypto to even home values. But is it legit? Find out in this review.

5-point scale (the higher, the better)

Pros and Cons

  • Tracks wide variety of assets
  • Supports 20,000+ global banks & brokers
  • Real-time reports
  • No budgeting
  • No retirement tracking
  • No free plan

Bottom Line

Comprehensive net worth tracker for all your global and alternative assets

Investing has evolved a lot in recent years. So why are portfolio trackers still in the stone age?

Kubera aims to change that. You can track your global stock portfolio, crypto, NFTs, precious metals, and even your home value in one place.

But is Kubera any good?

In this review, find what's good and bad about the platform, how much it costs, and how it compares to Empower and Delta.

What is Kubera?

Founded in 2019 and based in Palo Alto, California, Kubera is a web-only tool for tracking your wealth and investments.

Kubera stands out for the range of investments they let you track, including:

  • Stocks, which you can import directly from your brokerage
  • Cryptocurrencies and NFTs, imported from most major exchanges
  • Your home value and other real estate
  • Car value
  • Internet domains
  • Forex
  • Precious metals, and more

They make it easy to connect your banking and investment accounts using multiple account aggregators (Mastercard, Plaid, Yodlee, SnapTrade, Lean, Akahu & Salt Edge), and import your data real-time right into the app. You can also separate your stock holdings from the rest of your accounts, making it functional as a pure stock tracker, as well.

One downside of Kubera is that they don't provide much guidance or financial advice. But if you're a seasoned investor looking for comprehensive financial tracking, then Kubera may be right for you.

Is Kubera safe? Yes, Kubera takes the safety of their members' investment info seriously. They don't store any of your banking or crypto account credentials, so even if their servers were breached, your credentials wouldn't be compromised. While data isn't end-to-end encrypted, it is encrypted at-rest and in-transit (read more here).

Kubera Features

Kubera aims to help you keep track of all your assets. Their straightforward platform makes it easy to see your finances in as granular or broad a view as you like.

Here are the main features Kubera offers:[1]

Track Your Assets
Kubera tracks your total net worth, which is then broken down into assets and debts. Kubera will track bank accounts, stocks, crypto, fiat currencies, real estate, cars and internet domains, and more.

For maximum convenience, Kubera connects to thousands of banks, brokerages, and exchanges to make syncing all your accounts easy.

A nice perk for crypto is that Kubera converts their value into your native currency, so you can quickly see how a single Bitcoin or £1,000 GBP affects your net worth in USD.

The value of your home can also be added by entering your address or even a Zillow URL; those in other countries will have to enter the value manually. You can do the same for your car in the U.S. and Canada just by entering the VIN.

Plus, if you have any valuable internet domains, Kubera will calculate their worth.

Any other assets you want to keep track of, such as alternative investments or property, can be entered manually and easily tracked along with the rest of your assets.

A Full Financial Overview
The net worth tab on the Kubera dashboard shows you a visual breakdown of your assets, separated into categories, as well as a list of your top investments.

To see which of your assets has appreciated the most, you can organize your view by day, week, month, or year, and get a better idea of the change over time.

And if you ever need to share your portfolio with someone, be it a spouse, an accountant, business partner, or financial advisor, you can do it with the click of a button.

Other trackable data in Kubera includes:

  • Insurance policies
  • Safety deposit boxes
  • Beneficiaries

How much does Kubera cost?

Kubera charges $199/year for their portfolio tracking service. You can also test it out with a 14-day trial for just $1.[2]

This is more expensive than many similar services. Prices among Kubera's competitors range from completely free (Empower, Seeking Alpha, and Sharesight, though they may have paid versions) to as much as $2,400 per year for the Pro version of Seeking Alpha.[3]

While Kubera's competitors have a more appealing price, they may not support as wide a range of asset types as Kubera does. Think about what you want from an investment tracking software to know which is right for you.

How Does Kubera Compare?

Now that you have an idea of what Kubera can do, let's take a look at how it stands up to some of its most popular competitors.

Kubera vs Empower
Along with a range of other features, Empower allows users to track their assets and see how much they're worth. Like Kubera, Empower lets you see your cash, investments, mortgage, and more, along with tracking cash flow in and out of your bank accounts.

The main difference is that Empower focuses on retirement planning. It has advanced retirement calculators that project what your retirement finances will look like. You can even add life scenarios (like buying a house, paying for college) to see how those will affect your retirement nest egg.

It also does a free portfolio analysis for you. And gives you advice on how you might tweak your portfolio to reach your goals.

Empower does all of this for free. If you're looking for financial planning tools, Empower is hard to beat.

In comparison, Kubera costs $199/year and is purely a net worth tracker. It doesn't have budgeting or retirement planning. However, Kubera lets you track a wider range of assets.

Kubera vs Delta
Delta is a popular cryptocurrency portfolio tracking app that has expanded to support stocks as well.

They also support ETFs, indices, mutual funds, bonds, futures, and options, with more assets on the way.

Delta supports many cryptocurrency exchanges and tries to keep investors and potential investors in touch with companies, a service that Kubera doesn't offer.

Delta also comes in at half the price tag of Kubera, at $99.99 a year for the Delta Pro plan.[4]

Considering alternatives to Kubera can help you decide which app best suits your needs. For a broader perspective, take a look at our roundup of the best portfolio tracking apps.

Bottom Line

Kubera is a solid product that does what it does well, but at a price that may be hard to justify when compared with some of its top competitors. It's easy to see the value of what Kubera does—helping you keep track of all types of assets in one place.

$199 a year might not be a significant amount to some, but with platforms like Empower offering the same portfolio tracking services for free, in addition to budgeting and other financial tracking and planning services, you might have better options.
